Magnum Corkscrews Mammoth Fossilized Tooth

These Laguiole Magnum's handles are made of 10,000+ years old fossilized mammoth molar teeth harvested in Siberia.  The molar is stabilized for strength and dyed in various colors, some of which are pretty stunning. Note that only one color is used to create a handle; the color variance within a handle is caused by the ability of certain areas of the tooth (i.e., enamel) to absorb the single-color dye. Fossilized molar is a tough material because of its enamel layers; in many cases, diamond-cutting tools must be used to cut it.

The Magnum wine openers are handmade in Europe's capital of cutlery, "Thiers." The "Gilles®" Fontenille Pataud collections of cutlery are considered by many to be some of the best money can buy. Gilles's cutlery is made entirely by a single craftsman from start to finish, ensuring pride in ownership of the final piece.

Individual images - No one wants to view photos of a beautiful and unique corkscrew and receive something similar but not even close to the representative image. Each corkscrew is particular; the file work on the spring (the top of the handle) ae individualy filed and; therefore, unique. Two handles made from the same material can have very different patterns or colors.
