In 1993, Master Sommelier Guy Vialis introduced the Chateau Laguiole® Classic, the first genuine waiter-style Laguiole corkscrew. Since its inception, Chateau Laguiole® has become a favorite among elite sommeliers worldwide and remains the top-selling and most counterfeited high-end waiter-style Laguiole corkscrew globally. Rest assured, all authentic Chateau Laguiole corkscrews, like this one, are 100% Made in France.

Included Black Sheath: The authentic Chateau Laguiole black belt sheath, favored by numerous waiters globally, fits belts up to 2.5" wide. Each sheath, crafted from meticulously chosen genuine cowhide, is produced by Max Capdebarth in France. 



    Although the pre-2020 Chateau Laguiole classic charmed countless wine aficionados, it displayed certain limitations. The post-2020 version not only touts considerable improvements in the end product's quality but also features several striking visual distinctions worth noting.

    • The previously soldered "bee" was prone to detaching after a fall. The updated model boasts a forged bee, eliminating soldering issues. Now, the bee seamlessly integrates into the decorative spring.
    • The primary drawback of the original Chateau Laguiole Classic was the two liners beneath the handle material. After opening hundreds of bottles, the pin securing the screw could occasionally distort the one-millimeter plates, leading to the corkscrew's early failure (fixed free under warranty). The updated model includes two 1.5 millimeter plates to effectively address the problem.
    • Upgraded bottom bolster: This purely aesthetic addition serves two purposes - to provide the waiter-style corkscrew with a sleeker look by eliminating grooves and, more importantly, to enable instant recognition of the latest model.

    Important note: When buying a Chateau Laguiole without a smooth bottom bolster (the section containing the foil cutter), you may end up owning one of two variants:
    1) An older version of a Chateau Laguiole classic model.
    2) A fake Chateau Laguiole reproduction made in China.

    Since 2020 all genuine Château Laguiole corkscrews come with a registration card to be validated online. This is the only assurance of their authenticity and warranty.

    The foils cutter is serrated and measures 1.5/8 inches ~ 4.06 cm).

    How to Maintain Your Pocket Knife

    Pocket Knives are designed for cutting only. Do not use it as a screwdriver, crowbar, wood chisel, as this can cause irreversible damage and void the warranty.

    To keep your pocket knife in top condition, follow these maintenance tips:

    1. Lubricate Moving Parts: Periodically apply a few drops of lubricant to all moving parts. This ensures smooth operation and extends the life of your knife.
    2. Hand Wash Only: Always hand wash your pocket knife. After washing, dry it quickly with a soft towel to prevent rust and corrosion.
    3. Recommended Lubricant: We highly recommend using Sentry-Solutions Tuf Glide for all our folding knives. It provides excellent lubrication and protection.

    Important Note: Tuf Glide is not considered a "food-safe" product. Avoid using it on knives that come into contact with food.
